Complete the assigned readings for this unit. Research and select a publicly traded Fortune 500 company to use as a case study for both this discussion and the assignment for this unit.

• What was the original growth strategy for the case study company selected?
• How has the growth strategy evolved to the present day?
• To what extent is the original growth strategy in place?
• And are the principles described from the Porter (1996) and Collis and Rukstad (2008) articles still applicable?

HARVARD BUSINESS REVIEW
To retrieve articles from Harvard Business Review, follow these steps:
1. Log in to the Capella University Library.
2. Click the Journals tab and type the journal title, not the article title (search Harvard Business Review, not “A maverick CEO…”, “What is strategy”, “The innovator’s DNA”, etc.).

3. Click Search. A list of matches appears.
4. Click the database name (for example, Business Source Complete) that appears beside the journal title and year span you want.
Do not use the Search inside this journal box.

5. A search page with three rows of search fields appears. Enter the following information in the search fields:
• Leave the journal name as it appears. Leave the words “Select a Field (optional)” as is in the second field in the same row.
• Enter the article title in the first field in the third row. Change “Select a Field (optional)” in the second field to TI Title. Note: If the title includes punctuation, do not include question marks when entering the article title.
Typically this should be enough to pull up the article. If needed, you can also enter the last name of the author in the first field in the third row. Change the “Select a Field (optional)” field of that row to AU Author.

6. Click Search.
7. Scroll through the list of results to find the one you want.
8. Click the HTML Full Text or PDF Full Text link.
Note: If you cannot find an article try searching for only one word in the title. Remember to check your spelling.
