To successfully complete this initial assignment, it is highly recommended that you provide validity to your project plan by having a documented discussion with a project manager or other professional competent in the field of your project. The discussion with a project manager or other professional competent in the field will be a short synopsis (200-300 words) of the discussion along with your thoughts and comments.

Once your project has been selected, compose an executive summary description of the project that will be employed during the design and building of the project scope statement. The scope statement will include the objective of the project, goals, a clear description of the project (executive summary is the foundation) and appropriate steps that need to take place for successful completion.

Within this paper, assess what project scope and planning entails, how the process is accomplished, and how you implemented the process for your chosen project. Include in your assessment the scope statement, consideration of Life-Cycle Phases, participant roles, why plans fail (potential risks pertinent to your project based on the industry and/or field), and the value of a project charter in the project scope planning process.

Support your paper with minimum of five (5) resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Length: 5-7 pages including the 200-300 word synopsis, but not including title and reference pages

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University’s Academic Integrity Policy.
