BUS362 Ashford University Business Pitch Overview Analysis

Overview

A perfect pitch is composed of two elements: the content—aspects of the problem being solved, proposed solution, value proposition, business model, and the resources required—and the communication—delivery of the message in terms of voice, body language, appearance, and eye contact. Research has shown that people make up their minds in less than 90 seconds as to whether they want to know more about an idea. Thus, the objective of this exercise is to learn the basics of constructing the content and communication of the perfect picture for a venture idea.

What to Do (and How to Do It):

Prior to beginning this exercise, review Chapter 16 in the text, explore the article Richard Branson’s 5 Elements of a Perfect Pitch (Links to an external site.), and review the short video How to Pitch Your Business Idea (Links to an external site.) (Gallo, 2012; Innovate UK, 2013).

You are going to create a perfect pitch for the business idea you used for your business model canvas in the Interactive 2: My Business Model Canvas discussion in Week 3. You will record your pitch as a podcast using the Audacity application as you did with your introduction in Week 1. You will be given only 3 minutes in which to make your pitch. Both the content and the delivery are entirely up to you. You may use the Babson Rocket Pitch EvaluationPreview the document, located in your online classroom, as a guide in planning your pitch.

The following instructions explain how to complete this interactive discussion:
