We are starting week 3 today and our class is progressing with super good participation levels and active interactions in the course room. I hope you all are enjoying this learning journey just as much as I am. I am proud of you and I want to encourage you to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. In week two you learned how to describe the initiating process group, evaluate project governance, evaluate a project selection model and analyze project portfolio and program management. In week three you will learn how to complete project planning, create a Work Breakdown Structure, organize the project life cycle, and appraise risk treatment. I hope you are enjoying this learning journey and that you will let me know if you have any questions at all. Have a great week in week three!

Content

In Module 3, we examine project planning, charters and scope, and start to look at work breakdown structure. We start by exploring project planning in Chapter 6 of your text, and the project life cycle in Chapter 7. We will also examine the work breakdown structure, Gantt charts, RACI, and finally project risk.

Critical Thinking Assignment

In week 3, your portfolio milestone is due. Choose one of the two assignments to complete this week. Do not do both assignments. Identify your assignment choice in the title of your submission.

Review the rubric for the assignment so you would know how and what you are graded on.
Support your paper with a minimum of two current (published in the most recent five years) scholarly sources from the CSU-Global Library, in addition to any course textbooks or lecture material you decide to use.
Format your entire paper according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing & APA (Links to an external site.). (Links to an external site.)
Be clear, concise, and focused. Be sure to organize your writing properly and include an introduction; headings/subheadings for the body of your work; analysis and recommendations (if applicable); a conclusion; list of references; and an appendix.

With regard to large projects, it is challenging to apply Agile PM. However, a traditional project management approach is less effective than an Agile approach when project scope and technology are not very well known. Explain why this is so.

Cite a minimum of two current (published in the most recent five-year period), credible references. The CSU-Global Library is a good place to find sources. Make sure to cite your sources following the CSU-Global Guide to Writing & APA (Links to an external site.).

Post a minimum of 150-250 words for initial discussion posts. Post a minimum of 100 words for each of your required two peer responses.
