Addressing Diversity

Self-knowledge is critical to understanding and appreciating diversity. Research suggests educators must understand their own values and beliefs before they can truly understand others. In Part 1 of the Analysis, you will reflect on the characteristics that make you a diverse individual and their impact on you as an educator.

Directions: 1. Respond to each question 1-4 in “Diversity Self-Knowledge” in a well-developed paragraph.

2. Create the SWOT analysis table in the Word or text document.

3. Use your answers to questions 5-8 to guide completion of the SWOT analysis table.
